To help support the financial goals of our membership, we offer loans to finance a standard of living. Our members need funds for vehicles to drive, emergency home repairs, and many other reasons. In this course, member facing employees will learn:
· How to conduct an effective loan interview
· Ways to communicate the loan decision
· How to identify credit concerns
· How to review our lending guidelines
· How to discover our lending philosophy
· How to utilize the loan re-review process
· Loan regulations including HMDA, MLA, and Fair Lending
Additionally, the training provides an introduction and extensive training on loan guidelines, loan processing, loan products to include credit cards, unsecured personal loans, personal lines of credit, YES lines of credit, secured personal loans, collection workout loans, vehicle loans for purchase and refinance, and fixed home equity and home equity line of credit loans.
During the course, employees will interact with our ancillary product vendors or Insurance Sales to gain an introduction to loan protection products including:
· Membershield - debt protection for loss of life and life events, disability, and involuntary unemployment through CUNA Mutual
· Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) – payment of difference between actual cash value and the remaining loan balance in the event of a total loss for a vehicle through Allied Solutions
· Mechanical Breakdown Protection (MBP) – customizable extended warranty for a vehicle through Route 66
Upon completion of this course, member facing employees will have gained the tools they need to use the software necessary to provide loans, know how to discuss lending needs with our membership, and the regulatory guidelines behind lending.
